St. Mary School’s computer program is committed to educating students in grades K through 8. Students in grades K-3 attend class weekly for 50 minutes. Intermediate (4th -6th grade) students are taught on a quarterly schedule for a 9-week period, attending class four times a week. Junior High (7th & 8th grade) students attend a daily 50 minute class over a 9 week period.

The classroom teacher, the media specialist, and the technology coordinator collaborate to maximize the effective use of technology in support of the Diocesan curriculum. The curriculum includes acquisition of the following skills:
  • learning and applying keyboarding skills
  • using Microsoft applications such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access, Movie Maker and Publisher
  • researching responsibly on the Internet*
Graduates of the program are competent and confident in their knowledge and use of current technologies. They can apply and integrate computer skills, both independently and cooperatively, across all academic disciplines. They have become self-directed learners who are better prepared for meeting the higher demands and requirements of high school.
