St. Mary is a member of the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) Private Schools League. All students in grades six through eight may try out for sports; however, players must maintain eligibility through good grades and good behavior.

For the girls, volleyball, softball, tennis, golf and cross country are offered in the fall; basketball and cheerleading in the winter; and soccer in the spring. For the boys, there is tennis, golf, and cross country in the fall; basketball in the winter; and baseball and soccer in the spring. There are usually two teams, A and B, for soccer, basketball, and volleyball.

Our coaches volunteer their time and talent to help our students learn the rules of the game and to practice sportsmanship. The coaches determine the teams and the amount of playing time each player receives. This decision is based on talent, participation in practices, and especially good attitudes.

The Sports Program is funded as part of the school budget and is subsidized by basketball gate and concession revenue. Uniforms are provided by St. Mary with assistance from the Boosters Club and are replaced on an as-needed basis.

It is very important that we, as parents, students, and teachers, support our teams and coaches with enthusiasm, encouragement and by good examples.
