Dress Code or Uniforms
As a means of continuing our Catholic school identity, students are expected to be in proper uniform at all times. The following dress code is required and will be enforced:
BOYS UNIFORM K 8
1. Plain white polo style shirt, short or long sleeved (no logo St. Mary on the Hill
School crest is optional). No turtlenecks. Shirts must be tucked in at all times.
2. Navy blue walking shorts (no logo), no more than ONE inch above the knee measured from the bend in the back of the knee, in the fall & spring, navy blue uniform pants (no logo) in winter.
3. Tan buc shoes
4. Plain white crew socks, no logo.
5. Navy blue sweatshirt with St. Mary on the Hill School crest/SMS. (No other sweatshirt is permitted).
6. Navy blue cardigan sweater with SMS patch. (No other sweater is permitted).
7. Dark colored belt must be worn with shorts and pants if they have belt loops.
8. School Mass Uniform/Field Trip Uniform (or other designated days) will be
white long sleeved, oxford cloth shirt, school tie, navy blue uniform pants, and buc
shoes. Only plain white t-shirt may be worn under shirts.
GIRLS UNIFORM K 3
1. Plain white polo style shirt, short or long sleeved (no logo St. Mary on the Hill
School crest is optional). Only plain white t-shirt may be worn under polo shirt no
turtlenecks. Shirts must be tucked in at all times.
2. Plaid jumper no more than ONE inch above the knee measured from
the bend in the back of the knee, navy blue walking shorts, (no logo) no more
than ONE inches above the knee measured from the bend in the back of
the knee, are optional in fall & spring, navy blue uniform pants (no logo) are
optional in winter.
3. Tan buc shoes
4. Plain white crew or knee socks no logo, navy blue or white tights are
permitted.
5. Navy blue sweatshirt with St. Mary on the Hill School Crest/SMS. (No other
sweatshirt is permitted).
6. Navy blue cardigan sweater with SMS patch. (No other sweater is permitted).

GIRLS UNIFORM 4 8
1. Plain white polo style shirt, short or long sleeved (no logo St. Mary on the
Hill School crest is optional). Only plain white T-shirt may be worn under polo
shirt no turtlenecks. Shirts must be tucked in at all times.
2. Plaid skirt (choice of style), no more than ONE (1) inch above the knee measured from the bend in the back of the knee,
navy blue walking shorts (no logo) no more than ONE (1) inch above the knee measured from the bend in the back of the knee, are
optional in fall & spring, navy blue uniform pants (no logo) are optional in winter.
3. Tan buc shoes
4. Plain white crew or knee socks, no logo.

Students are required to be in proper uniform from the opening day of school until the closing day unless parents receive a notice that the students may be out of uniform. Students are to keep shirts tucked in until they leave school property.
Noncompliance with this dress code, including, but not limited to, rolling of skirts, un-tucked shirts, no belt, improper shoes, improper jewelry, or wearing make-up, will result in Uniform Violations being issued. When a student receives three (3)
violations, he/she will receive a detention. If the student continues to be in noncompliance, a parent conference with the principal will be necessary.
JEWELRY/MAKE-UP
Jewelry (bracelets, necklaces, dangling and/or multiple earrings, or multiple rings) is not part of the school uniform. Only stud earrings are acceptable for girls and only religious necklaces are permissible. Watches may be worn, but bracelets are
not permitted. Make-up, including fingernail polish, is not permitted during school hours.
GROOMING/HAIRCUTS
Proper grooming is expected of every student. Fad haircuts and coloring of hair is not acceptable and will be determined at the discretion of the principal. (Examples: rattails, pony tails for boys or inappropriately shaved hair.)
Any infraction of the grooming code will necessitate a phone call to the parents to request that the students haircut be corrected as soon as possible. Consequences will be at the discretion of the administration.
